Our History
It all started with a personal need. In 2003, Thomas Berkenkämper was looking for a way to protect the display of his new digital camera without having to put the camera in a bulky case. Since he could not find a suitable solution, he used his cutting plotter, sourced transparent film and made the protection himself. The first films for friends and acquaintances soon led to the first orders.
In 2005, Dominik Oriwall joined the business, and Bedifol GmbH was founded one year later.
That personal need was not only the starting point for Bedifol. It still shapes how we think about our products today. We develop them to the same standard we would expect from a solution for our own device: they must perform their purpose reliably, work in everyday life, and be quickly and easily available.
A self-made solution for personal use has grown into a company. The core idea behind it remains the same.
Our History
The idea for Bedifol came about in 2006, when our founder and managing director, Thomas Berkenkämper, could not find a suitable screen protector for his digital camera and developed a better solution himself.
